The Seattle Seahawks have announced player designations ahead of their crucial Week 15 primetime clash with the Green Bay Packers. As expected, running back Kenneth Walker III is listed as doubtful after missing practice all week due to a calf injury sustained in Week 13 against the New York Jets.
With Walker unlikely to play, rookie Zach Charbonnet is set to lead the backfield once again. Charbonnet is coming off a career-best performance of 134 rushing yards against the Arizona Cardinals and will now face a tough Packers run defense.
Cornerback Artie Burns and offensive tackle Stone Forsythe are also doubtful. While neither player has been activated from injured reserve, Forsythe’s status was upgraded from “out” to “doubtful” after initially being listed with a hand injury.
Four Seahawks have been officially ruled out for Sunday night’s game: cornerback Tre Brown, safety Jerrick Reed II, tight end Brady Russell, and safety K’Von Wallace, who is still on injured reserve but has been designated for a return to practice.
Notably, no players have been classified as “questionable” for Seattle. As it stands, the Seahawks are expected to have four active roster players unavailable due to injury, with none of the “designated for return” players likely to be activated in time.
Speaking on the statuses of Brady Russell and Jerrick Reed II, coach Mike Macdonald hinted that updates could be coming soon, stating, “We’ll see on those two guys, maybe make an announcement here in the next day or two.” This suggests at least one of them may be headed to IR.
For the Packers, the most notable absence is All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander, who remains sidelined with a knee injury. Rookie safety Javon Bullard is also out with an ankle issue, while tight end Luke Musgrave is still not ready to return from his own injury.
