Rams Key Player Expected To Return Vs. Jets

The Los Angeles Rams have quietly become the team that no one wants to face in the 2025 NFL Playoffs, riding a hot streak since their bye week.

Following a thrilling shootout with the Buffalo Bills, the Rams headed north to face their NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, on Thursday Night Football. Despite the rainy conditions that slowed down their offense, the Rams managed to grind out a 12-6 victory, improving their record to 8-6.

The Rams are now firmly in the hunt for the division title, making their Week 16 matchup against the New York Jets even more crucial. Los Angeles is nearly at full strength, though Tyler Higbee has yet to make his season debut.

That could soon change, as head coach Sean McVay confirmed the plan to have Higbee active against the Jets. “Yeah, that’s the plan,” McVay said. “That’s what the plan is. We haven’t made that move official yet.”

McVay added, “Given everything that’s transpired over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been expecting and anticipating this move. It’s not finalized, but with the progress he’s made and how he’s looked in practice, I expect him to be ready for the Jets. I don’t want to put a hundred percent stamp on it, but that’s the plan.”

Higbee has been recovering from the knee injury he sustained during last year’s playoffs against the Detroit Lions, but it seems he’s shown enough progress in practice for the team to plan on having him on the field against the Jets. In his absence, Los Angeles has relied on a rotation of Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen, and Hunter Long at the tight end position.
