Aireontae Ersery gives Gophers an All-American
The Big Ten had five players named to the first-team All-American list, although none of them were from the Minnesota Gophers. However, P.J. Fleck’s standout left tackle earned a place on the third-team.
Ersery was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Lineman of the Year, and his All-American selection further boosts his reputation in his final season with the Minnesota Gophers. He is expected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming April draft.
Ersery started all 12 games for Minnesota this season, allowing just one sack and proving to be a consistent force for the program. Pro Football Focus ranks him as the fourth-best tackle on their big board, describing him as an “impact zone-run blocker.”
It remains to be seen how Ersery will perform at the professional level. He joins center John Michael Schmitz as the Gophers’ representatives on All-American teams over the past three years. Under P.J. Fleck, the Gophers have had six All-Americans, including Antoine Winfield Jr., Tyler Nubin, Rashod Bateman, and Mohamed Ibrahim.
Ersery will showcase his talents at the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl as part of his pre-draft preparations.
