Oklahoma Lands Stanford’s Starting O-Line Star via Transfer Portal.

“Thank God for this amazing opportunity, and thank you to everyone who helped me along the way,” Baklenko wrote in his initial Instagram post. “Back to work!” Bill Bedenbaugh is bolstering Oklahoma’s offensive line with some fresh talent from the transfer portal. Former Stanford starter Luke Baklenko made it official on Monday, announcing his commitment to the Sooners.

Baklenko, a sophomore, appeared in 11 games and started nine at right tackle this season. As a freshman, he also made an impact, starting five games.

With over 1,000 snaps of Power Five experience across the ACC and Pac-12, Baklenko brings both proven talent and size to the table. Standing at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds, he’s well-equipped to compete at the SEC level.

A three-star transfer prospect according to 247Sports, Baklenko is ranked as the No. 22 offensive tackle in the portal. Originally a three-star recruit out of Oaks Christian in California, he chose Stanford before making his move to Oklahoma.

The Sooners offensive line has struggled, particularly in protecting quarterbacks, allowing a staggering 285 sacks last season. Oklahoma is hoping Baklenko’s addition will help shore up one of the most pressing issues for the team.

Baklenko becomes the Sooners second commitment from the transfer portal this offseason, following Kennesaw State punter Jacob Ulrich.
