Five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson has requested to be released from the financial aid agreement he signed with Oregon during the early signing period, according to his representatives at EL1TE Sports Management Group. Wilson now plans to enroll at Florida, which had been actively pursuing him before signing day and remained committed to his recruitment.
A product of Tampa Bay Technical High School in Florida, Wilson had received three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions favoring Florida in early December. Despite the growing speculation, he initially honored his commitment to Oregon, where he joined the 2025 class in January 2023. Wilson was one of four five-star recruits Oregon secured during a strong early signing period.
Wilson is now set to become the first five-star recruit in Florida’s 2025 class, joining blue-chip wide receiver Vernell Brown III, ranked No. 39 nationally and No. 6 at his position. Both Wilson and Brown could quickly become key targets for Florida’s former five-star quarterback, DJ Lagway, who earned 247Sports True Freshman All-American honors in 2024.
Florida has been recruiting at a high level recently. After reaffirming support for coach Billy Napier and finishing the season on a three-game winning streak, the Gators have aggressively pursued top talent. Currently ranked No. 11 in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, Florida will move up to No. 10 with Wilson’s addition. Key signings in the early signing period included flips of four-star edge rusher Jayden Woods from Penn State, safety Hylton Stubbs from Miami, and safety Lagonza Hayward from Tennessee.
Although Florida has yet to make a major move in the transfer portal, the Gators have secured key returns for next season, with interior defensive lineman Caleb Banks and starting center Jake Slaughter both opting to return instead of entering the NFL Draft.
