Phil Mafah and Jake Briningstool, two key players for Clemson, have announced their decisions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after successful college careers.
Phil Mafah, a senior running back, wrapped up his Clemson tenure with an impressive season, rushing for over 1,100 yards despite battling a shoulder injury late in the year. Mafah shared his gratitude on social media, thanking Jesus Christ for the opportunity, as well as his family, teammates, and the Clemson staff for their support.
He expressed how his time at Clemson shaped him and helped him grow. He also noted that using his platform to spread the Word of God was the most rewarding part of his journey. Mafah concluded his message by announcing his excitement to focus on the 2025 NFL Draft.
Tight end Jake Briningstool, after four years with the Tigers, also declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Briningstool leaves as the all-time leader in receiving yards for a Clemson tight end, with 1,380 yards, 127 catches, and 17 touchdowns.
During his senior season, he earned third-team All-ACC honors, scoring seven touchdowns. Standing 6-foot-6, he has been invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, where he will have the opportunity to impress NFL scouts.
Both Mafah and Briningstool have left a significant mark on Clemson football and are now focused on the next phase of their professional careers.
