Oregon State Lose Top Defense Star to LA

Oregon State inside linebacker Isaiah Chisom announced on Tuesday that he will be transferring to UCLA.

Chisom becomes the fourth player from the 2024 OSU roster to transfer, and the second to join UCLA, following cornerback Andre Jordan Jr.

All four OSU transfers have moved to Power 5 programs: Chisom, Jordan, Melvin Jordan IV (Georgia Tech), and Luka Vincic (Michigan State).

A redshirt freshman with three years of eligibility remaining, Chisom entered the transfer portal on December 13 and reportedly visited UCLA five days later.

Chisom, who was Oregon State’s second-leading tackler with 75 tackles (including five for losses), had a season-high 11 tackles against Air Force on November 16.

Oregon State lost both of its starting inside linebackers to the transfer portal, with Chisom and Melvin Jordan IV departing. Chisom started 11 games for the Beavers in 2024.

For next season, Oregon State’s top returning inside linebackers are Dexter Foster and Aiden Sullivan. The Beavers also added USC transfer Raesjon Davis and signed incoming freshman Jeremiah Ioane in December.
