Atlanta Braves get David Fletcher and Max Stassi from Angels for Evan White and Tyler Thomas

In a recent transaction, the Atlanta Braves secured the services of infielder David Fletcher and catcher Max Stassi from the Los Angeles Angels. In return, the Braves traded infielder Evan White and left-hander Tyler Thomas to the Angels.

David Fletcher, aged 29, exhibited a batting average of .247 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in 33 games for the Angels during the most recent season. Additionally, he demonstrated strong performance at Triple-A Salt Lake, boasting a .331 average with four home runs and 38 RBIs in 85 games.

A native of Orange County, Fletcher has maintained a career .277 batting average with 16 homers and 168 RBIs over six seasons with the Angels. Currently under a $26 million, five-year contract, he is owed $14 million, with a buyout option for 2026.

Max Stassi, aged 32, did not participate in the recent season due to a left hip strain sustained in spring training and a family medical issue. Throughout his 10-year career with Houston and the Angels, Stassi has held a .212 average with 41 home runs and 128 RBIs. He is set to receive a $7 million salary for the upcoming season, with a team option for 2025.

Evan White, aged 27, spent the last two seasons in the minor leagues and was acquired by the Braves from Seattle in a recent trade. White, a Gold Glove winner at first base in the shortened 2020 season, agreed to a $24 million, six-year contract in 2019. He is owed $7 million next year, $8 million in 2025, and has a $2 million buyout for a 2026 club option.

Tyler Thomas, aged 27, was selected by Atlanta from the New York Mets in the Triple-A phase of the winter meeting draft. In the previous season, he split his time between Triple-A Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton, amassing a 2-0 record with a 2.86 ERA and four saves in 24 relief appearances.
