Steelers Hit Hard: Two Stars Out with Major Injuries

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers were missing two key players on Wednesday. Kicker Chris Boswell was out due to illness, while defensive lineman Cam Heyward remained sidelined with the flu, marking three consecutive days of missed meetings and practice after playing through the illness on Saturday.

Heyward was at the facility, which offers hope for his availability, but he may need to push through if he isn’t fully recovered by Saturday’s game against the Ravens.

Cornerback Donte Jackson returned to full practice, boosting his chances of playing this week despite dealing with a pinched nerve in his lower back. On the downside, veteran tight end MyCole Pruitt did not practice due to a knee injury, which has kept him out for five games and could sideline him again if it doesn’t improve.

Rookie guard Mason McCormick, nursing a broken left hand, is expected to test the injury in team drills starting Thursday.

Wide receiver Roman Wilson, linebacker Cole Holcomb, offensive tackle Calvin Anderson, and defensive lineman Logan Lee, all aiming to return from injured reserve, participated fully in practice.
