Now, the Packers face an important offseason. After two consecutive playoff appearances, the team must make the necessary moves to take the next step and become a legitimate Super Bowl contender. On Monday, the front office made the first set of moves, announcing several roster changes.

According to the official team statement, the Packers signed 12 players from their practice squad to reserve/future contracts. The players include DL Deslin Alexandre, S Omar Brown, DL James Ester, CB Kamal Hadden, K Alex Hale, G Marquis Hayes, WR Julian Hicks, G/T Donovan Jennings, WR Cornelius Johnson, CB Kalen King, DL Jeremiah Martin, and TE Messiah Swinson.

By signing these players to reserve/future contracts, the Packers ensure they are under contract and not free to negotiate with other teams during the offseason, even though the league year hasn’t officially started. Teams have the flexibility to sign as many players to future contracts as they wish, provided they stay within the 90-man roster limit.

The Packers are likely to evaluate these players during OTAs, minicamp, or training camp. As the offseason progresses, additional moves—such as free agent signings, draft selections, and potential trades—will help shape the 90-man roster for the 2025 season. Ultimately, the team will have to trim the roster down to 53 players in August before the season begins. It remains uncertain how many of these signees will make the final cut.
