Huskers Eye Top Olney Offensive Tackle with Bold Offer

The Nebraska Cornhuskers extended an offer earlier this week to three-star offensive tackle Casey Thomann from the class of 2026, a move he announced on social media.

Thomann, who ranks as a four-star recruit, is the 29th overall offensive tackle and the ninth-best player in his class from Illinois according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Thomann has received offers from several programs, including the Illinois Fighting Illini, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Iowa State Cyclones. His Nebraska offer marks the latest development in his recruitment this year. He wrapped up his 2024 recruiting visits with an unofficial trip to Notre Dame on October 12.

Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 302 pounds, Thomann would be Nebraska’s first offensive lineman commitment in the 2026 class. With only three current commits in the class, he could play a key role in protecting quarterback Dayton Raiola.

The Huskers have made a strong push for offensive linemen in recent recruiting cycles, and landing another Midwest talent like Thomann would be a major boost for the program.
