The Philadelphia Eagles have officially opened the practice window for defensive end Brandon Graham, signaling a potential return to action for him in next Sunday’s Super Bowl, according to the team.
Graham, who has been out since November with a torn triceps, was originally expected to miss the rest of the season, possibly marking the end of his career. At 36, Graham has been weighing retirement, so a return for the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs could serve as his swan song in the NFL.
Graham has already made history with the Eagles, playing in two Super Bowls and delivering a game-changing strip-sack on Tom Brady during their Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots.

In addition to his pivotal postseason moments, Graham is the Eagles’ all-time leader in regular-season games played (206) and ranks third on their all-time sacks list with 76.5 career sacks.
Though his role has been more limited in recent years as the Eagles have developed a younger defensive line, he still registered 3.5 sacks this season before his injury.
If Graham makes it back, the Eagles may have to temper their expectations, likely limiting his snaps and acknowledging he won’t be at full strength. Nevertheless, his presence on the field—even for a few plays—or as a leader, could provide a significant emotional boost to the team.
