Gophers redshirt sophomore tight end Nathan Jones has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal, a source confirmed to the Pioneer Press on Wednesday.
Jones, originally from Brock, Texas, appeared in seven games for Minnesota, primarily on special teams, during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He played in six games last fall, recording one catch for 10 yards against Rhode Island.
A 2023-24 academic all-Big Ten honoree, Jones enters the portal as a graduate transfer, having completed his degree in just 2 1/2 years.
Jones is the 14th player to leave the University via the transfer portal since October.
