Michigan State Scores Big with 2026 QB Commitment!
Kayd Coffman, a three-star quarterback from East Kentwood High School, announced his commitment to Michigan State on social media Friday night. The 2026 prospect joins Coach Jonathan Smith’s growing recruiting class, following the addition of Joey Caudill, a three-star tight end from Ohio, last month. With this commitment, the Spartans now have two future stars on board for the 2026 cycle!
Coffman, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound QB, had an impressive junior season at East Kentwood, completing 104 of 184 passes for 1,594 yards, 12 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He also added 237 rushing yards to his stat line. His strong performance quickly caught the attention of top programs, earning offers from Michigan State, Iowa State, Ole Miss, and more.
Ranked as the No. 12 prospect in Michigan, No. 37 quarterback, and No. 550 overall in the 2026 class by 247Sports Composite, Coffman is a rising star in the recruiting world.
Under Coach Jonathan Smith, Michigan State has been building a solid quarterback pipeline. After bringing in Aidan Chiles from Oregon State and signing two quarterbacks in the 2024 class, the Spartans added three-star Leo Hannan in December for the 2025 cycle. Now, with Coffman on board, Michigan State is securing its future at quarterback!
