NY Rangers Top Starter Suffers Undisclosed Upper-Body Injury

Igor Shesterkin sustained an upper-body injury during the New York Rangers‘ game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night, and will be sidelined for the next 1-2 weeks.

The exact moment or cause of the injury remains unclear, as Shesterkin played the full game without showing any signs of discomfort.

The Rangers have one more game before the 4-Nations Face-Off, after which they won’t play again until February 22.

This break aligns well with Shesterkin’s injury recovery timeline, though it’s still uncertain if the 29-year-old goaltender will miss any games after the break.

In response to the injury, the Rangers have called up Dylan Garand.
