Former Gophers quarterback Max Brosmer has officially earned an invitation to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, as confirmed by Minnesota sports insider Darren Wolfson in a post on X Monday.
Following the completion of Minnesota’s 2024-25 season, Brosmer has rapidly climbed NFL Draft boards. He stood out at East-West Shrine Bowl practices and is seen by many as a solid “round 6 or 7 flier” candidate.
Minnesota hasn’t produced a quarterback selected in the NFL Draft since Craig Curry in 1984, and Brosmer has the chance to make history as the first Gophers quarterback to hear his name called. His journey continues with the NFL Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February.
Brosmer is currently grouped with potential day-three quarterbacks such as Syracuse’s Kyle McCord, Ohio State’s Will Howard, and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel.

A strong week of interviews, drills, and on-field testing at the combine could help set him apart as an intriguing, underrated player in the later rounds.
Wolfson’s post also mentioned Minnesota’s Pro Day on March 19, although this has yet to be confirmed. The next five weeks will be crucial for Brosmer’s pre-draft preparation.
Although the official list of NFL Combine invitees hasn’t been released, Brosmer is expected to join offensive lineman Aireontae Ersery, defensive end Jah Joyner, and linebacker Cody Lindenberg as the third Minnesota player invited.
While NFL Draft picks don’t win games on Saturdays, Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck is producing professional talent at a rate not seen in the program for years.
