Commanders’ First Move After Super Bowl Raises Eyebrows: Bobby Price Re-Signed

With the Super Bowl now in the rearview mirror, NFL teams have begun making roster adjustments for the upcoming season. The Washington Commanders wasted no time in taking their first step, bringing back cornerback Bobby Price.

The team officially announced the signing of Price, who was part of the Commanders’ roster during the 2024 season. Although his on-field contributions were limited, he appeared in three games and recorded one tackle while playing 34 special teams snaps. His return gives Washington a familiar face in the secondary and a potential depth piece as they evaluate their roster ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Price originally entered the NFL in 2020, signing as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions. Over the course of his career, he has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals. In total, Price has accumulated 28 tackles, three passes defensed, and a fumble recovery. Interestingly, during his stint with the Lions in 2021, he also contributed on offense by catching one pass for 17 yards.

Washington’s decision to bring Price back suggests they value his versatility and special teams contributions. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, he possesses good size for a cornerback, making him a potential asset in coverage and run support. Special teams play is often a key factor for players like Price, as teams look to solidify their depth in all phases of the game.

With the offseason officially underway, teams across the league are making moves to fill out their 90-man rosters. The Commanders will likely continue to assess their needs and explore additional signings, trades, or draft prospects in the coming weeks. For now, Bobby Price has another opportunity to prove himself and earn a more significant role in Washington’s defense moving forward.
