Florida State head coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff are continuing their efforts to establish a presence in Texas for the 2026 recruiting cycle. On Tuesday, FSU extended an offer to four-star safety prospect Chace Calicut from Houston’s North Shore High School. Calicut is ranked by Rivals as the fourth-best safety in his class and the 12th-best overall prospect.
The rising senior has already received four FutureCast predictions in January, all from Rivals analysts (team, regional, or national) projecting him to Texas. This means FSU faces a tough challenge in catching up in Calicut’s recruitment. His only reported unofficial visit this year was to Texas.

A potential advantage for the Seminoles is that Calicut was previously offered by Nebraska last spring when FSU’s current defensive assistants, Tony White, Terrance Knighton, and Evan Cooper, were part of the Cornhuskers’ staff.
Calicut’s offer list also includes North Carolina, Miami, Washington, Missouri, Minnesota, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
