Padres Expected to Trade $154 Million Player to One of Four Potential Teams!
The San Diego Padres are reportedly considering trading several of their expiring contracts this season due to a significant amount of money tied up in a few key players.
As a result, nearly every player on the roster is at risk of being dealt. Zachary Rymer from Bleacher Report recently predicted that the Padres would trade a $154 million player this season, listing the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants, and Seattle Mariners as potential trade partners.
Rymer highlighted that this player has won three consecutive batting titles, boasting a career average of .323, which ranks just behind last season’s second-best hitter. Despite a tendency to swing and miss, with 405 strikeouts since 2019, and a lack of walks, this player remains valuable for his ability to anchor a lineup with his high batting average. Rymer also mentioned that the player struggles defensively at both second base and first base.
While the Reds might not be a fit unless they suffer injuries, the Mariners are in need of offensive improvements, making them a strong contender. The Tigers and Giants could also be in the market for a first baseman and would benefit from a top-of-the-lineup hitter like this player.
