Hill appeared in 52 games for the Dolphins, starting three of them in 1981, after being traded from the Los Angeles Rams for a fourth-round pick. He participated in the team’s Super Bowl appearances against Washington in 1982 and the San Francisco 49ers in 1984, though he did not have any offensive touches. However, he recorded a special teams tackle in both games.

Originally drafted as a second-round pick out of Memphis in 1979, Hill played in Super Bowl XIV with the Rams, who were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over his six-year NFL career, he appeared in three Super Bowls before his career ended when the Dolphins released him in September 1985.
