Trae Taylor visited the University of Alabama during the Crimson Tide’s first day of spring practice and left with an offer from the team. A sophomore at Carmel Catholic High School in Illinois, Taylor is part of the 2027 recruiting class. He already holds offers from several schools, including Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska, LSU, Texas A&M, and more.

Taylor expressed excitement about receiving an offer from Alabama, saying, “It’s Bama. It means a lot. Anytime a school like Bama shows interest, you have to be excited and make sure to do your research before making any decisions.”
During his visit, Taylor had the chance to observe Alabama’s spring practice and was impressed with the program’s structure. “The program is very well organized and great,” he said. “There was a lot of positive energy, and everyone was fully focused.”
Taylor has set a commitment date for June 6 but is considering delaying it to allow more time to build relationships with coaches.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback had an impressive 2024 season, recording 25 total touchdowns, 3,061 passing yards, and 437 rushing yards. He demonstrated a strong ability to make various throws, including hitting receivers on out routes, delivering passes on slant routes, throwing over his receivers’ shoulders on corner routes, and showing excellent ball placement on deep throws. Taylor also displayed great agility and change-of-direction skills when running with the ball.
“The strongest part of my game is how I process it,” Taylor said.
