EUGENE – As two major visits approach, five-star quarterback and top-ranked recruit in the 2026 class, Jared Curtis, might be getting closer to making his commitment decision.
Curtis has planned visits to both the Oregon Ducks and Georgia this March. The Tennessee native will first travel to Eugene, Oregon, for a visit on March 8, followed by a trip to Georgia on March 13.

“I’ll wait until my official visits to decide. I want to visit the schools, see what I like,” Curtis told On3 in December.
The 6-4, 225-pound quarterback has set official visits to Oregon on June 6 and Georgia on June 13. Although he plans to wait until then, his upcoming visits to Eugene and Athens this month could lead to an earlier commitment if one school stands out. On3’s Steve Wiltfong recently reported that Curtis might decide after these spring visits.
Curtis was previously committed to Georgia but de-committed in October, reopening his recruitment and giving Oregon another shot. Since then, it’s come down to a two-team race between the Ducks and Bulldogs. Other schools like South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, USC, and Ohio State were once in the mix, but now it’s just Oregon and Georgia.
According to Wiltfong, Oregon has been leading lately, with strong ties to offensive coordinator Will Stein and head coach Dan Lanning, plus the Ducks’ rising program. However, Georgia’s success and proximity to Curtis could give the Bulldogs the edge.
Curtis is ranked No. 4 overall in the 2026 class and No. 1 quarterback. He earned Gatorade’s Tennessee Football Player of the Year award after leading his team to a state title, throwing for 2,672 yards and 38 touchdowns, while rushing for 577 yards and 14 touchdowns.
A commitment from Curtis would bolster Oregon’s status as a top destination for elite quarterbacks and strengthen their No. 1 2026 recruiting class, joining Dante Moore in a talented quarterback room. The next few weeks will be key in shaping Curtis’ final decision.
