Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley is set to cash in this offseason, though the exact amount of his new contract remains uncertain.
As the top free-agent offensive tackle of the offseason, Stanley is almost guaranteed to land a deal worth over $20 million per year, potentially nearing $25 million. Despite his injury history and turning 31 later this month, his value speaks volumes about his performance when healthy.
CBS Sports‘ Joel Corry, a former sports agent, projected Stanley’s new deal to be around $90 million over four years, averaging $22.5 million annually. This projection includes $55 million in guarantees, with $47.5 million guaranteed at signing.
“Fully healthy for the first time since the 2019 season, Stanley played 98.11% of the Ravens’ offensive snaps in 2024,” Corry noted. “While he didn’t quite return to his 2019 form as arguably the NFL’s best offensive tackle, he still had a Pro Bowl-worthy season.”
Stanley had an impressive 92% pass-block win rate, according to ESPN Analytics, which was on par with Lions left tackle Taylor Decker. Last July, the Lions signed Decker to a three-year, $60 million extension, averaging $20 million annually with $31.83 million fully guaranteed.
If Stanley’s deal falls in that ballpark, the Ravens will need to get creative to fit it under the cap. With only $12.2 million in cap space, they’d need to free up around $10 million to retain him.
However, general manager Eric DeCosta expressed confidence in the team’s ability to re-sign Stanley, and insiders expect him to return. With less than a week until Stanley can negotiate with other teams, all eyes are on how this situation plays out in the coming days.
