Eagles Hall of Famer, former NFL champion has died

Baughan reportedly died of natural causes.

Baughan was the Eagles’ second-round pick, 20th-overall, in the 1960 NFL Draft. He played for Philadelphia through the 1965 season. He then played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1966 through 1970 and then stepped away from playing. He spent 1972 and 1973 as the defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech, and then returned to the NFL to as a player/coach for Washington in 1974.

Baughan was a Pro Bowl pick and a part of that 1960 Eagles NFL champion team, and he finished his career as a nine-time Pro Bowler. He is in the Eagles Hall of Fame.

Baughan played 147 games in his career with 129 starts. He recorded 18 interceptions.

He had coaching stints with the Baltimore Colts, Detroit Lions, Cornell, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Baltimore Ravens following his playing days.
