Baltimore Ravens Lose LB Super star to Their Arch Rival

For the second consecutive year, the Baltimore Ravens have lost a linebacker to their bitter rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the Steelers have secured a two-year, $10 million deal with former Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison. This follows last year’s move when the Steelers signed former Ravens Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Queen to a three-year, $41 million contract.

Harrison, who recently turned 27, played in 76 games over five seasons with the Ravens, starting 34 of them. During his time in Baltimore, the Ohio State product recorded 174 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks.

Report: Steelers snag linebacker Malik Harrison from division rival

Harrison had one of his best performances in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Chargers, making 13 tackles while filling in for All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith. He played 50 defensive snaps in that game, setting a career-high, which he later surpassed with 54 snaps against the New York Giants just three weeks later.

After the Chargers game, Harrison expressed his satisfaction: “It feels good. It’s a lot of people that doubted me coming into this game, so I’m happy I was able to ball out and show them that I can be in this league, and I can play at a high level.”

With Harrison now heading to Pittsburgh, Baltimore currently only has two inside linebackers signed: Roquan Smith and Trenton Simpson, who started early in the season but was relegated to a backup role later on. Chris Board and Kristian Welch remain unsigned at the time of this report.
