Minnesota is reportedly bolstering its defensive line.
In an effort to strengthen their defensive front, the Minnesota Vikings are said to be adding veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, a long-time staple of the Washington Commanders.
According to an ESPN report from Adam Schefter on Tuesday morning, the Vikings have reached a three-year, $60 million deal with Allen.

Allen, 30, earned two Pro Bowl selections with the Commanders in 2021 and 2022, recording nine and 7.5 sacks, respectively. However, his 2024 season was impacted by a torn pectoral muscle, which caused him to miss nine games during the regular season. He returned for the playoffs and registered five tackles in the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
On February 25, Washington’s general manager Adam Peters informed reporters that the team would permit Allen to explore a trade, though this ultimately didn’t happen.
After spending eight years with the Commanders, Allen became a free agent and has taken the opportunity to join a Vikings team that finished with the fifth-best scoring defense in the league in 2024.
