The Baltimore Ravens have had a relatively quiet offseason so far, with few major moves to note. Their most significant action was securing left tackle Ronnie Stanley with a crucial three-year contract extension.
Beyond that, the addition of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on a one-year deal stands out, but the Ravens have otherwise refrained from making splashy acquisitions from other teams.
With the NFL Draft a little over a month away, Baltimore still has clear needs on both offense and defense. One pressing gap is replacing Patrick Mekari, who departed for the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Bradley Locker of PFF warns that reaching for an interior offensive lineman in the first round could be a mistake for the team.
Locker points out, “With Ravens guards ranking a lowly 26th in PFF overall grade in 2024, Baltimore needs to find immediate starters to pair with the recently extended Ronnie Stanley. While prospects like Tyler Booker or Grey Zabel might tempt them early, the later rounds should offer plenty of capable options to shield Lamar Jackson and open paths for Derrick Henry.”
The Ravens did re-sign Ben Cleveland to bolster their interior line depth, though he’s primarily a reserve, having logged just four percent of offensive snaps in 2024.
If they heed Locker’s advice to wait on drafting an interior lineman, players like Georgia’s Tate Ratledge and Jared Wilson could be worth watching in later rounds. North Carolina’s Willie Lampkin might also emerge as a Day Three target. Regardless of their approach, it’s almost certain the Ravens will address this need in some capacity.
