Oregon State has secured its fourth recruit for the 2026 class, with three-star wide receiver Cynai Thomas announcing his commitment to the Beavers on Sunday night.
The standout from Riordan High School opted for Oregon State, favoring it over strong contenders like Washington and Arizona State, while also weighing offers from Cal, Boise State, and Utah. Thomas joins quarterback Deagan Rose, running back LaMacus Bell, and defensive end Noah Tishendorf as the latest pledge in the Beavers’ 2026 haul.
Thomas has long been on Oregon State’s radar, initially bonding with former wide receivers coach Kefense Hynson. After Hynson’s departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, Fresno State’s Pat McCann stepped in to lead the position group.
In just a few weeks, McCann and Thomas forged a tight connection. “It’s like we’ve been friends forever,” Thomas told BeaversEdge about their talks. “We’ve spoken a ton—he’s awesome and really gets what it takes to succeed at the next level.”
The Beavers had an extra edge in recruiting Thomas, thanks to his older brother, Skyler, a current safety on the team. Between Skyler’s experience in Corvallis and his own recruitment journey, Thomas has grown to feel right at home with the program. “I’m obsessed with it,” he previously shared with BeaversEdge. “Corvallis is where it’s at—the campus is gorgeous, and everyone’s so friendly.”
As a junior at Archbishop Riordan, Thomas lit up the field, hauling in 47 catches for 727 yards and 12 touchdowns. His sophomore year was just as impressive, with 41 receptions for 679 yards and seven scores.
