Struggling NFC East Team Lands Gritty Broncos Veteran WR!

Few NFL teams have as many roster holes as the New York Giants, who head into the 2025 season with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen under immense pressure following several years of poor personnel decisions.

While the Giants need reinforcements at nearly every position, their biggest weaknesses lie in the skill positions. To address this, they signed veteran wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey from the Denver Broncos to a one-year contract on March 21, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“Giants are signing former Broncos WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey to a one-year deal, per source,” Schefter posted on his official X account.

Humphrey is coming off his best season yet, recording 31 receptions for 293 yards with the Broncos in 2024. He has also played in every game for Denver over the past two seasons. Beyond his receiving stats, he stands out as a rare wide receiver who contributes significantly even when not catching the ball.

In November 2024, analyst Frankie Abbott highlighted Humphrey’s overlooked impact in the run and screen game. “A person requested I put together a cutup of Lil‘Jordan Humphrey’s dirty work plays that go unnoticed throughout the season, so that is exactly what I did,” Abbott wrote on X. “Sit back, relax, and enjoy nearly 4 minutes of LJH being a demon in the run/screen game and one of Denver’s best YAC WRs.”

According to Mike Klis of Denver 9 News, Humphrey chose the Giants over a chance to remain with the Broncos.

“Now former Broncos WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey is signing 1-yr deal with Giants,” Klis reported on X. “Denver did make him an offer to return for a third season. Humphrey’s agent, Jimmy Gould, said, ‘A lotta love and respect for Sean (Payton) and Broncos. This is about future opportunity and we felt Giants offered more.’”
