Jeremiah Favorite, a defensive back from Boiling Springs, South Carolina, has scheduled an official visit to Michigan State in East Lansing on June 6. As a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, he holds the No. 17 spot among South Carolina’s class of 2026 prospects.
Prep Redzone’s Ian Guerin highlighted Favorite’s rising stock, noting that he snagged four offers in a single day last month from programs across three states and four conferences.
Guerin praised him as the top cover corner in his class, bringing three years of starting experience—his freshman year at Myrtle Beach and the past two in the Upstate. His film showcases measurables that deter quarterbacks from targeting his side of the field.
Michigan State’s defensive backs coach, Blue Adams, favors physical players who thrive in run support and can press receivers at the line. Favorite checks those boxes, blending speed and instincts with his aggressive style. Though he’s still polishing some skills, his athleticism and tenacity align with what defensive coordinator Joe Rossi and the Spartans’ staff look for, suggesting he could develop quickly under their guidance.
The Spartans’ 2026 recruiting class currently boasts four verbal commitments: quarterback Kayd Coffman from East Kentwood, offensive lineman Eli Bickel from North Branch, and tight ends Eddie Whiting from North Dakota and Joey Caudill from Ohio, a key recruiting pipeline.
With spring ball underway, official visits are picking up, reflecting the momentum built by head coach Jonathan Smith and his team. These visits will shape the class, hinging on who commits—or doesn’t. The staff’s ability to adapt to these shifts will be crucial in rounding out the roster with the right fits, signaling a promising trajectory for the program if they succeed.
