The Alabama Crimson Tide have secured a commitment from one of the top defensive backs in the class of 2026, outpacing the Georgia Bulldogs for his signature.
Five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds announced on Wednesday that he has committed to Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide over several top SEC programs, including Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Auburn.

Edmonds, a Marietta, Ga. native who plays for Sprayberry High School, is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 1 cornerback in his class and the No. 10 overall prospect. Despite being a local talent, Edmonds decided to leave his home state and commit to Alabama, giving a significant boost to the Crimson Tide’s 2026 recruiting class, which had yet to land a five-star recruit.
Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 175 pounds, Edmonds is a versatile player for Sprayberry, also playing wide receiver where he has recorded 35 receptions for 670 yards and four touchdowns, according to Max Preps. On defense, he has tallied two interceptions, eight pass breakups, and 63 tackles over his sophomore and junior seasons.
Edmonds is now the top recruit in Alabama’s 2026 class, joining other commitments like Zyan Gibson, Jamarion Matthews, and Chris Booker.
