Browns Bring in Elite Linebacker for Pre-Draft Visit!
The Cleveland Browns are considering all possibilities to strengthen their roster in the upcoming NFL Draft, which starts April 24 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. While their second overall pick is expected to bring an immediate impact, the team will need to address other areas throughout the draft. There’s also the option of trading back from the No. 2 spot to gain additional draft picks, especially since this year’s draft is deep on the defensive side.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Cleveland is hosting Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker. The Salisbury, North Carolina native won the Butkus Award in 2024 as the nation’s top linebacker, recording 60 tackles, including 11 for loss, 6.5 sacks, two passes defended, and two fumble recoveries for the Georgia Bulldogs. NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein described Walker as a “hybrid” edge rusher and linebacker in his draft profile.

“Some view Walker as a ‘tweener,’ while others see him as a ‘hybrid.’ Either way, he has potential. His career snaps are split between edge rusher and linebacker, and he’s known for his leadership in the Georgia program. While he’s still refining his instincts and efficiency as an off-ball linebacker, he possesses the power and quickness to make an impact in that role.
Although he’s a bit small to be an early-down edge rusher, his athleticism and explosiveness make him a tough challenge for offensive tackles. Walker’s best use could be as an early-down linebacker who can rush the edge or blitz during passing downs.”
