On Saturday, the Minnesota Gophers football team secured two commitments. Eli Diane, a 2027 edge rusher from Wayzata, pledged in the afternoon, followed by Utah wide receiver Kai Meza in the evening. Meza, a 6-foot, 175-pound three-star recruit from Corner Canyon High School, announced his commitment on social media, expressing gratitude and sharing a photo with coach P.J. Fleck.
He chose Minnesota over offers from Arkansas, Boise State, California, Utah, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, and others. Meza is the third wide receiver in the 2026 class to join the Gophers, alongside four-star Bradley Martino and three-star Legend Lyons. Corner Canyon, Meza’s high school, also produced NFL prospect Zach Wilson and potential first-rounder Jaxson Dart.
