Nebraska’s Wide Receiver returning to Kentucky.
Wide receiver Hardley Gilmore IV is heading back to the Bluegrass State, announcing his transfer from Nebraska to Kentucky. The move marks a return to familiar territory for the Florida native, who initially committed to the Wildcats before making a brief stop in Lincoln.

Gilmore, a 6-foot, 170-pound receiver known for his speed and playmaking ability, entered the transfer portal earlier this offseason. After limited opportunities during his time at Nebraska, he now looks to reboot his college career in Lexington, where the Wildcats continue to bolster their wide receiver depth.
Coming out of Pahokee High School, Gilmore was a four-star recruit and one of the more dynamic pass-catchers in his class. His initial commitment to Kentucky was seen as a big win for the Wildcats‘ recruiting efforts. Now, with his return, Kentucky regains a familiar talent who already has a rapport with some members of the coaching staff and team.
While Gilmore didn’t log significant playing time at Nebraska, his high school tape and athletic profile still carry plenty of promise. Kentucky, aiming to add explosiveness to its offense, could benefit from his ability to stretch the field and make plays after the catch.
The transfer adds another intriguing piece to Kentucky’s wide receiver room heading into the 2025 season. With a fresh start and a chance to contribute closer to home, Gilmore’s return could prove to be a valuable addition for the Wildcats.
