The transfer portal is currently active for several sports, and Notre Dame is seeing movement both in and out.
FOOTBALL
Former Notre Dame safety Kennedy Urlacher quickly found a new team. The sophomore is heading to California to join the USC Trojans, following Chad Bowden.
BASKETBALL
Niele Ivey and the Notre Dame women’s basketball squad faced a busy offseason in the transfer portal following significant roster turnover. On Friday, they made a key addition by landing guard Vanessa de Jesus from the Duke Blue Devils.
While her stats might not jump off the page, Vanessa de Jesus brings something just as valuable — leadership and composure. That kind of presence on the court could be exactly what Notre Dame needs to complement the dynamic play of Hannah Hidalgo.
While I absolutely respect every athlete’s right to choose their path and school, I’ve got to admit—this one doesn’t sit right, you guys.
With three years of eligibility left, Urlacher is now likely to finish his college career with just one win in this rivalry matchup. That’s a tough pill to swallow.
