Minnesota Wild Grit It Out Amid Injury Woes

Marco Rossi’s spot on the fourth line wasn’t the only key takeaway from Monday’s practice sessions. Joel Eriksson Ek was absent from the ice after blocking a shot late in Game 4.

Luckily, head coach John Hynes reassured the media after practice that Ek’s absence was simply a precautionary rest day. The Wild are confident their top-line center—and team leader—will be back in action for Tuesday night’s Game 5 in Vegas.

Even better news: Marcus Johansson hit the ice on Monday and could be ready to return for Game 5 as well. Johansson skated on the left wing of Minnesota’s second line during practice. He missed Game 4 due to a lower-body injury sustained in the third period of Game 3.
