Report: Bengals key man out of the squad due to serious injury

Ja’Marr Chase, the star wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, suffered a separated right shoulder in the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, as per NFL Network reports. Following a 24-yard reception in the early fourth quarter of the Bengals’ 27-24 overtime victory, Chase sustained the injury and briefly returned to the sideline before leaving the game with three minutes remaining in regulation. Despite briefly returning, he was ruled out for overtime and seen on the sideline wearing street clothes and a sling.

Further examinations are scheduled for Sunday to assess the extent of Chase’s injury. While the severity remains unclear, there is a possibility that he could be ready to play in Cincinnati’s upcoming road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his availability, Chase has been a key contributor to the Bengals’ success this season, leading the team in catches (93), receiving yards (1,156), and touchdowns (seven) in 14 games. The 23-year-old, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, boasts an impressive career record with 261 receptions, 3,657 yards, and 29 touchdowns in 43 games since being drafted by the Bengals as the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU.
