Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto is reportedly considering the prospect of changing agents ahead of January.

Gnonto garnered significant attention from Everton during the summer transfer window, facing rejection of four bids by Leeds, the highest of which was reportedly around £25 million. Despite numerous player departures from Leeds after relegation in May, Gnonto’s situation stood out as he declined to play in three August matches and submitted a transfer request.

The catalyst for these actions is still unclear, but it is evident that his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, played a prominent role in the reports emerging from Italy. The Athletic now reports that Gnonto is contemplating a change of agents due to the intense events of the summer transfer window. Leeds, along with manager Daniel Farke, are eager to secure a new deal with the 20-year-old.

While a move to the Premier League could have been financially beneficial for Gnonto’s agent, a potential change in representation may signal the player’s desire to move past the tumultuous events of the summer, despite the agent’s efforts to facilitate a lucrative transfer.

Gnonto, acquired by Leeds for £5 million from FC Zurich, has not enjoyed the expected success in the Championship this season, contributing only one goal and one assist. His last starting appearance was in October. Nevertheless, Farke has publicly expressed satisfaction with Gnonto’s recent attitude, indicating positive efforts behind the scenes.

The prospect of a return bid for Gnonto in January from Everton or any other club remains uncertain at this stage. However, Farke has already emphasized his reluctance to let any players leave the team.
