Leeds United team news as Daniel Farke makes two squad switches for Ipswich Town visit
Daniel Farke has resisted the temptation to make changes in his Leeds United lineup for the significant home match against Ipswich Town, maintaining the same starting XI as in the previous draw with Coventry City. Notably, Junior Firpo and Ian Poveda return to the bench after absences, displacing Luke Ayling and Jaidon Anthony.
While vice-captain Ayling has been absent from squads this season, Anthony has consistently featured, and there was no indication of any issues for the Bournemouth loanee in Farke’s pre-match press conference. Firpo, who has been sidelined with an injury for the past four matches, makes a comeback after his late appearance against Swansea City.
Poveda, who missed the last three matches due to international duty with Colombia, is back in high spirits following a successful trip, as mentioned by Farke. The lineup ensures that Illan Meslier and Ethan Ampadu extend their unbroken streaks of 23 consecutive starts in the Championship.
The match will be officiated by referee Stephen Martin, assisted by Mark Dwyer, Andrew Fox, and Anthony Backhouse as the fourth official.
Leeds United Starting XI: Illan Meslier; Archie Gray, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Djed Spence; Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara; Daniel James, Joel Piroe, Crysencio Summerville; Georginio Rutter.
Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Junior Firpo, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, Ian Poveda, Wilfried Gnonto, Joe Gelhardt, Ilia Gruev, Mateo Joseph.
