F1 Esports has been a complete disaster this year

There was a lot of excitement around F1 Esports in 2023, and a significant number of people watched the postponed and completely unexpected opening race of the season. However, the season seems to be in danger once more due to the ridiculous lack of communication between teams and organizers and the cancelation of this weekend’s scheduled event.

Event 2 cancelled

The second event was supposed to happen at the end of this week, after the first one finally took off with an exciting race at the end of November. However, it was abruptly canceled because teams were unaware of the travel plans.

Everyone concerned is really disappointed, especially since this was the ideal opportunity to introduce F1 Esports to a wider audience now that the season is done.

By attempting to create a massive LAN event with F1 Esports, Formula 1 and their new production partners ESL appear to have bitten off far more than they can chew. The absurd outcome is a scenario of silence, cancellations, and a season that is on the verge of being canceled altogether.

The fans, drivers, and simulation racing community at large have all been totally let down by Formula 1 and ESL, and we may never fully know what is going on behind the scenes.

Sacrificed youth

Young people tend to play esports, and F1 Esports drivers are no different. The drivers with the most experience on the grid, who have spent over five years in the series and countless hours getting ready for this season, are only twenty-four.

In order to fight at the pinnacle of Formula One Esports, several drivers have postponed their careers and abandoned their studies. Even while there is typically a sizable $750,000 in prize money, the money is only partially distributed among 30 drivers from 10 teams, each of which has devoted engineers and support personnel working behind the scenes.
