According to a report by Tigers Torkmoil on X, Dylan Axelrod has been brought on board by the Tigers organization as the pitching performance and integration coordinator. At 38 years old, Axelrod, who previously pitched for the White Sox and Reds in the majors from 2011 to 2015, spent the last four years as the pitching coordinator for the Angels.

Last month, The Athletic’s Sam Blum revealed that Troy Percival, during a visit to the club’s minor league instructional camp, expressed dissatisfaction with the excessive use of iPads by pitchers, and this sentiment reportedly influenced the decisions to terminate Axelrod and Buddy Carlyle. Carlyle has since found a new position with the Rays, as reported by Eno Sarris of The Athletic.
