Wilky Denaud, originally from Fort Pierce, Florida, will join the Mississippi State Bulldogs after taking a redshirt year during his sole season at Auburn. Despite being a 4-star prospect in high school, he decided to transfer, having received offers from other notable schools such as Florida, Arkansas, and Florida State. Denaud, who played at John Carroll High School, demonstrated his skills in his senior season with 79 tackles, including five sacks.
With the Bulldogs aiming to address defensive needs through the transfer portal, their defensive line coach, David Turner, has already recruited two other prospects: Sulaiman Kpaka from Purdue and Kedrick Bingley-Jones from North Carolina. The departure of Jaden Crumedy and Nathan Pickering, who were starters on the defensive line, along with freshman Jonathan Davis entering the transfer portal, has left the Bulldogs in need of both starters and depth.
Denaud, expected to play as a five-technique in college, stands at 6-4 and weighs 295 pounds. As he enters an open competition for starting defensive line positions, the Bulldogs recognize the necessity of bolstering their roster through the portal. Despite Denaud’s limited playing experience at the college level, there is confidence in his talent and potential impact.
