FATAL: Georgia bulldogs two men death and legal document claims it was reckless driving

The Georgia Bulldog football program faced a tragic incident in January when a car driven by staff member Chandler LeCroy, carrying offensive lineman Devin Willock as a passenger, crashed into a utility pole, resulting in the deaths of both occupants.

Investigations revealed that LeCroy’s blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit, and the vehicle was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour at the time of the accident. A lawsuit filed by Georgia staffer Victoria Bowles, who was in the backseat during the crash, has led to serious allegations of a negative culture within the Georgia Bulldog football program.

Alcohol, cash used in UGA football recruiting, court filing alleges

Recent legal filings in a Georgia court have now accused the program of a pattern of recruiting staffers frequently driving under the influence with recruits and their families in the vehicle. The amended complaint suggests that text messages indicate supervisors and coaches at times encouraged recruiting staff to consume alcohol with football prospects’ families, fully aware that staff members would later drive after consuming alcohol.

The complaint goes on to claim that coaches and staff routinely consumed alcohol at UGA football Coach Kirby Smart’s residence during recruiting events. Subsequently, using Association SUVs, they transported recruits’ families and guests back to their accommodations, despite being aware that alcohol was involved.

These allegations raise concerns about the Georgia football program and Coach Kirby Smart. It’s important to note that these are legal filings, and none of the allegations have been officially decided in a court of law. However, if proven true, they suggest a lack of control in the program in the years leading up to the tragic accident that claimed two lives.
