Breaking news: ‘Exceptional Leader Falcons’ confirm the signing of undisputed coach

The Atlanta Falcons have officially appointed Raheem Morris as their new head coach, concluding the search for Arthur Smith’s successor.

While the Los Angeles Rams now need to find a new defensive coordinator following Morris’s departure, the Rams’ general manager, Les Snead, who was once part of Atlanta’s front office, commended the Falcons for selecting Morris.

Snead described Morris as an “exceptional leader” and expressed his personal connection to the Falcons’ organization, emphasizing Morris’s success as a coach on both sides of the ball with esteemed mentors in the professional and collegiate levels.

Snead highlighted Morris’s role in the Rams’ Super Bowl Championship and praised his ability to leave a lasting impact, unify teams, and inspire collective achievement. Morris, who previously served as the Falcons’ interim head coach before Smith’s tenure, had been with Atlanta from 2015-20. His sole other NFL head coaching experience was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-11. Morris joined the Rams as their defensive coordinator in 2021, and he also had a stint with the Washington Commanders from 2012-14.
