With a clever pump fake from beyond the arc, the Serbian center outmaneuvered Deandre Ayton, the center for the Blazers, sending him into a state of confusion. Ayton, a product of Arizona, was left momentarily bewildered, turning his gaze towards the basket as if expecting a shot, only to be caught off guard as Jokic swiftly drove past him for a basket and drew a foul in the process. This remarkable move by Jokic not only earned him the points but also narrowed the Nuggets’ deficit to 52-47, showcasing his ability to outsmart opponents regardless of their size or experience.

Here’s another angle of the play in slow motion.

While Ayton may have experienced a momentary lapse in defense against Jokic, he demonstrated his resilience by putting up an impressive performance for most of the game. The Blazers’ center showcased his skills with 27 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks throughout the contest.

On the other hand, Jokic maintained his stellar form, outshining Ayton with 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. His exceptional performance played a pivotal role in leading the Nuggets to a 112-103 victory over the Blazers. Despite Ayton’s commendable efforts, Jokic’s all-around contribution proved decisive in securing the win for Denver.
