Last week, Clemson extended an offer to three-star linebacker Chase Taylor from Stockbridge, Georgia. This offer added Clemson to the list of schools pursuing him. Taylor, who stands at 6-3 and weighs 200 pounds, has received offers from several other notable institutions such as Michigan, USC, Duke, N.C. State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Florida State, Missouri, Virginia, and Tennessee, among others.
According to Taylor himself speaking to Clemson247, he intends to revisit Clemson sometime during the spring, although he hasn’t set a specific date yet. His initial exposure to Clemson was during the previous summer when he participated in the Dabo Swinney Camp, an experience he appreciated, highlighting Clemson’s esteemed reputation as a top-tier institution, especially under the leadership of Coach Dabo Swinney.
Over the weekend, Taylor attended the junior day event at the University of Georgia. While UGA hasn’t extended an offer yet, Taylor remains on their radar. He acknowledged UGA’s recent success on the field and emphasized their focus on character and personal qualities beyond football.
At this stage, Taylor mentioned that Tennessee, Florida State, and Georgia Tech have caught his attention. His performance as a junior included 73 tackles, six sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, and four pass breakups. Describing himself as a versatile athlete with strong striking ability, Taylor appears to be an appealing prospect for multiple college programs.
