According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Tennessee Titans are bringing aboard Colt Anderson to assume the role of special teams coordinator. Anderson, who has been part of the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff alongside Brian Callahan since 2020, previously served as the assistant special teams coach for the Bengals. With this appointment, Tennessee has now filled all vacant coordinator positions.
Anderson’s journey began in college football at Montana. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings after the 2009 NFL Draft and later joined the Philadelphia Eagles after being signed off the Vikings’ practice squad. He also had spells with the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.
The benchmark for this role is set by Craig Aukermann. There’s a strong belief that Anderson will meet or exceed this standard. Whether he surpasses expectations remains to be seen.
*Interesting tidbit: Anderson once shared a team with former Titan Marc Mariani.*
