It’s highly likely that Russell Wilson, the former quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, will once again be changing teams this offseason, a move that seems increasingly inevitable.
Reported by BusinessDen, Wilson and his wife Ciara are discreetly entertaining offers for their mansion located in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado. Although they’re maintaining a low profile at the moment, the couple is conducting tours for potential buyers.
Requests for comment from Wilson and Ciara via their foundation went unanswered.
The couple purchased the mansion for $25 million in April 2022, shortly after Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos by the Seahawks. This acquisition set a new record for the most expensive home sale in the Denver area, surpassing the previous high of $16 million.
Spanning 20,000 square feet on five acres of land, Wilson’s mansion boasts four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Additional amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a basketball court, and a guest apartment equipped with its own kitchen.
While Wilson had a promising career trajectory with the Seahawks, his time with the Broncos has been far from successful. In his debut season, the team struggled to a 5-12 record, with Wilson posting some of the lowest stats of his career. Although he showed improvement in the following season, helping the team to an 8-9 record, tensions arose between him and the new coach, Sean Payton. Their conflict reached a climax when Payton benched Wilson for the final two games of the season, signaling an end to his tenure in Denver.
Having signed a lucrative five-year deal worth over $240 million in the 2022 offseason, the Broncos will incur significant financial losses when they inevitably release him.
Two years later, the trade involving Wilson is increasingly being viewed as a major win for the Seattle Seahawks.
