Nevertheless, the Vikings currently hold the 11th overall pick in the upcoming draft, making it improbable for them to secure Maye, even if they desired to do so. Given that the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots, the top three teams in the draft order, are all in need of quarterbacks, Maye, along with Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, are likely to be off the board by the time the Vikings get their chance to pick. The urgency for the Vikings to address their quarterback situation will only heighten once they officially part ways with Kirk Cousins.
To improve their chances of acquiring Maye, the Vikings would need to maneuver up the draft board through a trade. While this remains speculative for now, the realm of possibilities is wide open.
