Brent Venables, the coach of the Oklahoma team, began his spring practice press conference with positive updates. He announced that Justin Harrington, a senior player who can play safety and linebacker positions, has been granted a medical hardship season by the NCAA.
Harrington, a former junior college All-American, will participate in spring practice after recovering from a knee injury sustained early last season. The Venables family also shared some uplifting news unrelated to football earlier that day: Julie Venables, Brent’s wife, confirmed that she is now cancer-free after battling breast cancer since last June.
